** This was my first official blog post for my website BlockingThePlate.com. The Seattle Mariners were hiring for a Digital Marketing Manager and this was my attempt at getting some attention coming my way. I hit Twitter pretty hard with a #HireDoug campaign, that did pretty well all things considering. What I didn’t know at the time was that there was a woman that had done the same thing right before me. (The Mariners interviewed her after Komo News featured her on their program.) Sadly, I never got an interview, but I did get a call from Gregg Greene telling me that they’d hired someone else. Obviously I was disappointed, but sometimes that’s just how things go. **

Social Media can sway an entire election! Social Media can influence companies to completely change a decision they’ve said couldn’t be stopped! Can Social Media get me hired? I think it can.
I have applied for the Digital Marketing Manager position with the Seattle Mariners, and I’m hoping that you can help me — wait, scratch that — I know you can help me get hired! I have over 15 years of Management experience and a Marketing degree from WSU. I’ve been highly successful and have a promising career with my company ahead of me, but that’s not what I want. What I am truly passionate about, is baseball.
Baseball is a way of life for me. I only hope that I can use my experience and results driven attitude to find my way into Major League Baseball, and specifically into the Seattle Mariners organization. I know I can do the job, it just comes down to whether I can get enough support from you to help me make it happen!
Let the Mariners know they should “Hire Doug!”
Thank you for your support!
Doug Miller
